Check out Yoga Studios on Cape Cod This Summer!

Are you traveling to Cape Cod this summer?  If it’s your first time or your 50th, you can find some great things to do – beaches, restaurants, theater, music, and Yoga!  Check out the list below for yoga studios from Bourne to Provincetown.  In addition to their regular classes, many studios offer beach yoga, SUP (stand-up paddle board), and weekend workshops.

There are 15 towns on Cape Cod many of which have villages or hamlets.  This list tries to cover all studios in a particular town but I ask for forgiveness if I missed any.

The Upper Cape – Bourne, Sandwich, Falmouth, Mashpee

According to Wikipedia, Bourne is considered the first town on Cape Cod because all 3 bridges (Sagamore, Bourne and The Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge are in the town of Bourne).

The Town of Sandwich is the oldest town on the Cape and one of the oldest towns in the United States according to the town’s website. Yin, Vinyasa and gentle yoga are available at Motherly Love Wellness or at Pose Studios.

There are a lot of things to see and do in Falmouth, the 2nd largest town after Barnstable.  Before hitting the beaches or visiting the many shops, you may want to take in some yoga offered by the following studios:

Mashpee might be known as a shopping and dining mecca but it is also the site of the headquarters and most members of the federally recognized Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, one of two Wampanoag.  Innerglow Yoga Studios, located in Mashpee Commons and Plymouth, MA offers an array of yoga and meditation classes for all levels.

The Mid Cape – Barnstable, Yarmouth, Dennis

Barnstable is the largest and most populous Cape Cod town. Seven villages make up the Town: Barnstable proper, Centerville, Cotuit, Hyannis, Marstons Mills, Osterville and West Barnstable.  Centerville Yoga & Wellness Center offers a variety of classes and has been a mainstay for yoga and wellness since 2007.  Beach yoga is available on Craigville Beach for all levels including families! If you are looking to supplement your yoga practice with a bit of cycling, Evoke Yoga and Cycle may be the studio you are looking for in Hyannis.  Looking for Hot Yoga? Try Hot Yoga Cape Cod.

Based in the town of Yarmouth,  Very Wendy Studios offers a yoga experience including trail or beach walks combined with gentle yoga, yin yoga, or meditation.  Besides its 16 beaches, you’ll find that Dennis offers a variety of yoga classes to choose from.  The Moving Meditation Yoga Studio offers hatha and vinyasa yoga along with Yin Yoga with Thai Massage. If you are looking for meditation classes while in the Mid-Cape area, check out Sasha’s Yoga where you will also find Zen Yoga and Qi Gong. If power yoga is what you crave, you’ll find plenty of options at Power Yoga of Cape Cod with two locations – Dennisport and Harwich

The Lower Cape – Brewster, Harwich, Chatham and Orleans

In Chatham, known for its beaches and Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge, you can participate in beach yoga at Chatham Lighthouse Beach Yoga or enjoy a nice flow or meditation class at  Shine Center.  Traveling to Orleans? Check out Orleans Yoga where you can try a class using wall ropes and slings.

The Outer Cape – Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, Provincetown

If your destination is the Outer Cape, there are six studios with many yoga offerings.  Wellfleet, famous for its oysters is the home of  Quiet Mind Studio which offers yoga, massage therapy, accupuncture and other wellness practices.  In Truro, a two-hour car drive from Boston and almost at the tip of Cape Cod, you can practice at Truro Yoga, a studio Inspired by Shiva Rea’s Prana Flow Yoga™.  Coming to the tip of Cape Cod, in the town of Provincetown, you will find beautiful beaches, top-rated restaurants, art galleries and charming shops – and two yoga studios.  Yoga Provincetown offering power, vinyasa, and heated classes and Outermost Yoga offering vinyasa, gentle flow and many workshops throughout the summer.
